This song was originally written for a friend in drug rehabilitation, but as the year went on, I lost other friends to the same drug, and also saw other friends lives fall apart from the drug. It's about believing in them and wanting them to get better.
lyrics
I knew you, before you had all the sores on your arms
I saw you, you were high with your body thrown across the floor
Well I just can’t sit, watch you waste away, this is killing you, this is killing me
Wait, just stop and listen
It’s not too late to stop giving in
I know that you can be free
From everything that you used to be
We felt you, the candles were lit in place of your life
We looked back, your body’s in the ground but your soul in the sky
How many more roses of mine will sink right in to a needle high
It’s not too late…
Wait, just stop and listen
It’s not too late to stop giving in
I know that you can be free
From everything that you used to be
(I believe in you to let this go
I believe in you to see this through
You have the strength to let this go
You have the strength to see this through)
